Stand Firm, Dear Followers of the Lamb!

One of my devotionals that I am reading this year is called Magnificent Prayer by Nick Harrison.

Today’s reading is particularly appropriate for what we are seeing in our country and world right now. Let us not forget who our real enemy is and let us use one of our primary weapons to engage the spiritual fight: Prayer!

“Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea,
because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, becaus
e he knows that his time is short.”
– REVELATION 12:12

We are living in an unprecedented age of satanic activity.

It appears that the enemy, knowing that his time is short, has come with great wrath even as the Apostle John said it would be. He seems to be “throwing in,” as we say, everything he has. It is the “battle of the bulge” for the powers of darkness.

Many Christian workers have capitulated before the unseen spirit forces from the pit that are charging the atmosphere of the world with poisonous fumes which, if taken without the gas-mask of faith and the victory of the Son of God, are proving fatal…

– F. J. HUEGEL

Pray About It: Make no mistake: as the return of the Lord approaches, the enemy will unleash even greater evils in our direction.

Christians today face more blatant wickedness than did our ancestors. And our descendants are likely to face even more. With such oppression afoot, the Christian pray-er must be militant in standing against evil and for good. This will likely cost you some friendships, as the trend of the word is to call evil “good” and good “evil.”

But do the right thing. Pray the right way. Stand fast against evil. Put on your spiritual gas mask and get to work.
