“I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours.”
– John 17:9 ESV
Jesus prays not for the world but for those the Father has given Him. What joy this brings! Our safety rests not in our own strength but in His unfailing intercession. He lives forever to pray for us, and His prayers never fail (Heb. 7:25).
This is why Peter was restored after his fall—Jesus had prayed that his faith would not fail (Luke 22:32). The same Savior now watches over us, guards us, and keeps us to the end.
Here is the believer’s comfort: Christ’s prayers are stronger than our weakness and greater than all the powers against us.
Rest in this: Jesus is praying for you even now.
Prayer: O Jesus, thank you for watching over us and praying faithfully for us. May my faith and the faith of everyone whom I love never fail. Knowing that you are praying for us boosts our courage and resolve to live faithfully for you. Help us to do so this day. Amen!
