The below is a link to Anthony Bradley‘s short article on Evangelicalism‘s Narcissism Epidemic. I would encourage you to read it and ask the Lord to show you one thing that you resolve to do to bring about changes in your sphere of influence… whether it be your home and kids, your church, your youth group, or your school.

For this epidemic to change, we must ask the Lord for a heaven-sent revival. The prayer of the Psalmist in Psalm 85:6 is simply this: “Will you not revive us again that your people may rejoice in you?” It honestly must begin with parents like me of these 20-somethings. We must repent of our failings because, as scary as it sounds, all of us parents tend to reproduce in our kids who we really are. They pick up our priorities, values, and commitments.
We are all prone to become discouraged when we look out at American culture and even when we look within at ourselves and our Christian subculture. Yet, like Elijah had to learn long ago in his despair, the Lord always has a remnant of loyal worshipers and our unique situation is never beyond hope. This is true especially for us who believe in the life-transforming power of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Here’s another article by Paul Floyd and Bruce Narramore that will help you understand, detect and guard against narcissism.
