Praying for Our Community from Acts 17

Let us praise the Lord that He is the creator of all, sustainer of all, ruler of all, father of all, and the judge of all.

Help us Lord to cherish a firm, soul-absorbing confidence in the power and truth of God’s gospel that we proclaim.

Lord, make us Bereans so that our study of Your Word might lead us to love You more devotedly. Give your people a hunger and an unprejudiced openness to studying the Scriptures.

Compel us with our personal responsibility to serve the interests of Your gospel in the world today.

Lord, open our mouths to explain and proclaim the good news. Open the minds of those who hear to grasp the gospel personally.
2 Timothy 2:25-26 – with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.

God’s truth is available to everyone but some will refuse to listen and others will reject the gospel when they hear it. May we be patient and respectfully persistent in sharing, wise in moving on when confronted by unteachable spirits, and joyful for those whom His Holy Spirit has prepared to receive Christ.

Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you someone who is facing aggressive opposition as they live for and proclaim the gospel today. Pray earnestly for the one whom the Holy Spirit has made you aware. Pray for safety, a good harvest, and a powerful testimony.
Pray that God would raise up more Christians who will dedicate their minds to Christ as professors, lecturers, authors, journalists, broadcasters, script writers, producers, artists and actors who will use their art and craft to communicate the gospel in thoughtful and engaging ways.

Pray that God would illumine us to identify and dismantle our own idols and lead us to repent, rejoice and rest in our Savior.
